Sensor Tower (now part of Data.ai) is seeking a Platform Engineer to enhance infrastructure, developer tooling, and delivery workflows supporting 100+ engineers. This role combines infrastructure engineering (65%) with software development (35%), focusing on cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, observability, CI/CD optimization, and internal tooling.
Key responsibilities include improving developer experience through better tools and workflows; maintaining infrastructure automation using Ansible, Terraform, and Terragrunt; enhancing CI/CD reliability and performance; diagnosing slow builds and flaky tests; developing internal tools and test infrastructure; improving observability with OpenTelemetry and ELK; and leveraging AI to build cloud-based agent tools for engineering workflows.
Required qualifications: experience developing and maintaining complex CI/CD workflows; software development background (internal tools, APIs, backend services, automation); AWS or equivalent cloud provider experience; telemetry and monitoring expertise (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Kibana); strong computer science and systems design fundamentals; willingness to learn Ruby and/or Go.
Desirable experience includes Jenkins CI build optimization, Docker/Kubernetes, Ruby/Python/JavaScript, and build systems like Webpack or Gradle. The tech stack includes AWS, Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, ELK, ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Ruby-on-Rails.
