Salary: GBP 69,700 - 94,300 / annual
Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, serving law firms and legal professionals worldwide. The Platform Team is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join their globally distributed team based in London, collaborating with engineers across North America and Europe.
You will design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure powering Clio's cloud-based products and services. Key responsibilities include: designing and operating scalable, secure production environments; implementing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform; collaborating with developers to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies; enhancing observability and reliability through monitoring and incident response; optimizing cloud performance and cost efficiency; mentoring team members; and partnering with Security, MLOps, and Product Engineering teams.
The role requires strong experience with AWS infrastructure and managed services (RDS, EKS, Lambda) at scale, Terraform and infrastructure automation, and solid coding skills beyond scripting. You should have hands-on experience with container orchestration, CI/CD systems (Buildkite, GitHub Actions), relational and non-relational datastores in production, and observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana). Linux systems administration, networking, and troubleshooting expertise is essential.
Bonus qualifications include production Kubernetes/EKS experience, cloud security best practices, AI-assisted development and debugging, prior platform engineering or developer productivity roles, and experience managing distributed data stores at scale with disaster recovery implementation.
