Fluidstack is building civilization-scale AI compute infrastructure, acquiring power, designing and operating data centers at unprecedented speed and scale. The Manufacturing team is responsible for scaling production capacity to deliver gigawatts of infrastructure annually. As Plant Manager for the Phoenix-area facility, you will own all aspects of production operations end-to-end. Your responsibilities include: - Full accountability for production output metrics: throughput rate, takt adherence, quality escape rate, line uptime, and on-time shipment against customer commitments - Driving continuous improvement across all production lines through root-cause analysis and corrective action on every deviation - Holding final product acceptance authority—nothing ships without your sign-off or explicit delegation - Managing the workforce interface with the on-site staffing partner to enforce production and quality standards - Owning site readiness across tooling, fixturing, material flow, equipment, utilities, and floor layout - Managing all contractor and vendor relationships - Ensuring full OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and air quality permit compliance as an active part of your daily management system - Building and developing the on-site manufacturing team, including production managers, supervisors, quality, and facilities staff - Owning workforce planning across headcount ramp, shift structure, skill mix, and certification tracking - Designing production systems: setting takt times, balancing lines, writing standard work, and building visual management boards - Building floor culture through standard work and clear escalation paths, ensuring supervisors know expectations and escalation triggers Fluidstack operates with full autonomy, insane urgency, first-principles reasoning, and a focus on building something that matters. You will have end-to-end ownership with no permission required to operate outside your core role. REQUIREMENTS: - Demonstrated track record running a high-volume discrete manufacturing facility end-to-end with specific output records (units per shift, defect rate, on-time delivery, or throughput improvement you personally drove) - Experience managing a large on-site workforce through a third-party staffing provider and holding that partner accountable to production and quality targets - Proven ability to take a facility from construction handover through first production to steady-state output, with ability to walk through ramp challenges and solutions - Experience designing production systems (setting takt times, balancing lines, writing standard work, building visual management boards) - Active daily management of OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and environmental permit compliance (not as a separate function) - Ability to build floor culture through standard work and clear escalation paths - Bonus qualifications: Structural steel fabrication, heavy equipment assembly, or modular construction manufacturing experience; Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification; experience commissioning robotic weld cells, CNC processing lines, or AGV material handling systems
