Salary: USD 102,000 - 140,000 / annual
Verkada is seeking a Physical Security Associate to develop, implement, and oversee security programs for company-related events ranging from small field events to large conferences. This role combines proactive planning with on-the-ground execution, requiring someone equally comfortable building security plans from scratch and managing daily operations.
You will partner closely with the marketing and events team to translate event plans into appropriate security requirements and attend events to ensure implementation. You'll also support the protective services team in the global security function, driving insider threat and threat intelligence programs and supporting executive protection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with marketing and events teams early in planning to scope security requirements and assess risk for internal, customer-facing, and executive-attended events
- Build and execute end-to-end security plans, including site assessments, guard and vendor staffing, and credentialing/access plans
- Serve as the on-site point of contact before, during, and after events to manage issues in real time
- Travel to supervise on-site security for events and support physical security operations at Verkada locations as needed
- Support daily physical security operations, including access administration, investigations, and incident response
- Conduct ongoing security audits to identify and close gaps in physical security coverage at remote locations
- Coordinate with the executive protection and physical security team on operations outside of the event calendar
- Monitor internal and external threats to identify and assess potential threats
- Produce threat briefs ahead of high-profile events, executive travel, or company announcements

The role is based in San Mateo, CA, but the company is open to both in-office and remote candidates. Travel is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5+ years of experience in corporate or physical security, ideally with direct experience planning security for corporate events, VIP visits, or high-profile gatherings
- Comfort managing both live events and daily physical security operations
- Ability to turn vague or incomplete requirements into a solid, actionable security plan
- Strong communication skills across a wide range of stakeholders, from event planners to executives to on-site security guards
- Calm, detail-oriented execution under pressure, especially with credentialing and vendor logistics
- Experience with access control and video security systems is a plus
- Relevant certification (PSP, CPP, or similar) is a nice-to-have, not required
- Must be independently authorized to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship not available for this role
