Foundry Robotics is building an AI-native robotics manufacturing company focused on deploying advanced assembly and production capability for leading robotics companies and national-security-critical hardware. The company is reimagining manufacturing through advanced robotics, positioning itself as an AI-first, assembly-focused, dual-use contract manufacturer.
You will serve as the Technical Program Manager responsible for standing up and scaling the data collection program from scratch. This role bridges the gap between the model team (researchers and engineers) and floor operations, serving as the day-to-day interface and source of truth for data collection metrics and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the rig fleet end-to-end (UMI grippers, GoPros, VR headsets), including procurement, lifecycle, asset tracking, spares, and vendor relationships
- Owning rig calibration cadence and drift detection across all hardware components
- Defining success criteria with the model team and translating requirements into actionable rejection rules for assemblers
- Authoring SOPs and coordinating with the Operations Manager for floor execution
- Managing new task ramp-up from spec through pilot batch design to production sign-off
- Curating and maintaining gold-standard reference demos (20–50 per task)
- Running post-capture QA and pre-delivery validation against model team specifications
- Tracking diversity and coverage across task variants, object positions, lighting, and operator styles
- Producing daily capture logs and weekly dataset reporting to stakeholders
- Owning task spec versioning and coordinating SOP updates and retraining triggers
- Managing the 48-hour handoff SLA for staging, upload integrity, schema enforcement, and metadata completeness
- Running root-cause analysis on rejected batches and closing feedback loops with the floor
- Defining and reporting program-level OKRs for usable hours, mix accuracy, and SLA attainment
- Owning data governance, compliance, and auditability standards required by frontier lab partners
This is a hands-on role requiring equal comfort at a desk architecting QA systems and on the floor calibrating equipment. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, Robotics Data, and cross-functional teams of researchers and engineers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years as a strong PM or TPM with exposure to hardware, data pipelines, or physical workflows
- Proven ability to build data collection or technical operations programs from the ground up and improve existing ones
- Comfortable owning task specs, QA programs, and standardization
- Equally effective at a desk and on the floor with deep hands-on experience
- SQL or Python proficiency to pull data and build dashboards independently
- Track record of tracking and improving program metrics (usable hours, mix accuracy, SLA attainment, rejection rates)
- Experience providing technical input in cross-functional environments with researchers and engineers
- Collaborative nature with consideration for downstream impacts on operators, model teams, and infrastructure
- Bias toward action, scrappy problem-solving, and moving fast without sacrificing rigor
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience supporting vendor or hardware supplier relationships
- Exposure to robotics, VLA models, or foundation model training data
- Experience scaling a data collection program from prototype to high-volume production
- Familiarity with computer vision, sensor calibration, or robotics data pipelines
