Veeam is seeking a Performance QA Engineer to join its Prague R&D office. You will design and execute performance, load, and scalability testing for major components of Veeam's data resilience and data security products, working on large-scale, real-world backup and data protection scenarios used by enterprises worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and execute comprehensive performance, load, and scalability testing from requirement analysis through lab design, test execution, and results analysis
- Build and maintain realistic enterprise-grade test environments with large infrastructures and complex topologies
- Identify performance bottlenecks and system limits, collaborating with developers, functional QA, and product managers to resolve issues
- Participate in root cause analysis of performance issues reported by Technical Support and customers
- Own and evolve performance test labs, including environment creation, configuration, monitoring, and IT team collaboration
Required qualifications:
- Technical education or strong hands-on passion for systems and performance
- 1–2 years of experience in performance and/or load testing, or strong practical background in system performance
- Ability to analyze test results and identify bottlenecks, limits, and performance risks
- Advanced user or system administration level knowledge of Windows and/or Linux
- Strong understanding of system internals: CPU, memory, storage, networking
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and structured thinking
- English proficiency for daily communication within international teams
Bonus skills include database experience (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), scripting and test automation, virtualization platforms, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), Python, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
