GitLab is seeking a People Technology Analyst to join the People Technology team, reporting to the Senior Director of People Technology. This role sits at the center of GitLab's HR systems operations, supporting a fast-growing, all-remote, innovative tech company. You will own recurring HR processes and serve as a go-to resource for People Operations, People Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition teams. Your responsibilities include administering Workday systems, maintaining data integrity through security role management and regular audits, and configuring, testing, and deploying system enhancements and quarterly/annual changes. You'll write and run test cases, maintain clear documentation of configurations and business processes, and prepare SOX IT general controls (ITGC) audit evidence and internal controls documentation. Key responsibilities also include building and maintaining reports and dashboards to support stakeholder decision-making, using cycle-time analysis to identify process friction and recommend configuration improvements, and providing training and enablement to help team members maximize their tools. You'll leverage AI daily to automate manual tasks and speed up analysis. Additionally, you'll support senior team members on cross-team projects and implementations, owning your workstreams and delivering quality results on schedule. The role operates in an all-remote, async-first environment where no two days look the same—one day you're running recurring processes and answering questions, the next you're preparing audit evidence or delivering system upgrades. Requirements: - Hands-on HR technology experience, including exposure to Workday configuration, testing, or system support - Exposure to public company operating procedures, such as SOX ITGC controls, audit evidence, and change management - Curious, puzzle-loving approach to problem-solving with experience investigating issues, analyzing process data, and finding root causes - AI-forward mindset with experience using AI tools in daily work to automate tasks, speed up analysis, and improve processes - Experience validating system changes and documenting findings clearly, with close attention to detail and discretion with confidential information - Independence and ownership mindset; ability to take accountability for outcomes and follow through on commitments - Collaborative, customer-focused approach; ability to partner openly and design with end-user experience in mind - Passion for turning complex processes into simple, delightful experiences - Helpful but not required: experience with Serval, Greenhouse, Slack, or Google Workspace; building reports and dashboards; supporting implementations, upgrades, or releases including regression testing; or working in fast-paced, all-remote, or async-first tech environments
