hyperexponential is hiring a People & Talent Product Engineer to join its Central Functions team in London (hybrid). This is a full-stack engineering role focused on building bespoke internal tools and systems for people operations, compensation management, and talent processes. You'll own the complete product lifecycle—from problem framing and UX design through technical build and production delivery. This spans simple internal utilities to sophisticated multi-level compensation platforms used company-wide. You'll make critical UI/UX decisions with real users in mind, turn prototypes into production-ready systems, and iterate based on live feedback. Key responsibilities include: architecting and building full-stack solutions (front-end, back-end, data models, infrastructure); specifying builds properly before coding to ensure alignment; working with sensitive employee and compensation data under strict security and compliance policies; and growing a specialized capability at the intersection of software engineering, product design, security, and people operations. You'll report to the VP People and partner with a senior/staff engineer from the core Engineering team who provides technical review and guidance—not day-to-day supervision. This is an autonomous role with real ownership. Within 3 months, you'll have shipped existing prototyped tools to production. Within 6 months, you'll have built and tested high-impact tools like compensation management systems. Required: 2–4 years as a full-stack or product engineer with end-to-end ownership of shipped tools; demonstrated UI/UX decision-making with real users; autonomous project ownership; full-stack development (front-end, back-end, data, infrastructure); experience with sensitive or regulated data. Bonus: prior exposure to HR/People systems. This role is designed to establish product engineering as a core capability within People & Talent—not just at hyperexponential, but as a model for the industry.
