Salary: USD 85,000 - 100,000 / annual

You will join the People & Talent team as a People Operations and Payroll Specialist, reporting directly to the People & Talent Lead. This is a full-time, onsite role in Palo Alto (five days per week) that consolidates HR operations, onboarding, and payroll administration into a single seat. Key responsibilities include: - Own and manage Rippling as the company's people platform end-to-end, ensuring HR, payroll, benefits, and employee data are accurate, well-configured, and user-friendly. - Manage Rippling cases from opening to closure, working with Rippling representatives to resolve issues and keep stakeholders informed. - Run payroll operations accurately and on time, partnering with the People & Talent Lead and Finance on approvals. - Manage payroll tax registrations and agency notices as the company expands into new states and localities. - Own the complete new hire onboarding experience, from offer acceptance through day 30. - Lead new hire orientation and design first-week experiences and role-specific onboarding plans in partnership with hiring managers. - Complete I-9 and E-Verify documentation on time and maintain audit-ready records. - Manage offboarding to ensure all changes are accurate through final paycheck. - Conduct regular employee data audits, maintain data cleanliness, and build reports for headcount, compliance, and leadership. - Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions about payroll, benefits, and people systems. - Support ad hoc projects and initiatives for the People & Talent function. Requirements: - 2+ years of experience in HR operations, payroll, or people systems, preferably in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. - Hands-on experience with Rippling or similar HRIS platforms (ADP, Gusto, Paylocity). - Experience running new hire onboarding and orientation with working knowledge of I-9 and E-Verify requirements. - Working knowledge of payroll operations and payroll tax registrations. - Exceptional attention to detail with a track record of catching errors before they reach employees. - Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliations. - Sound judgment and discretion with confidential employee and compensation data. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
