Salary: EUR 30,000 - 35,000 / annual
Factorial, a Barcelona-based HR tech company with 1,700+ employees serving 16,000+ companies across 112 countries, is seeking a People Operations Specialist to support its global workforce across offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico, Germany, and Galicia.
In this role, you will be a central point of contact for employees and managers on all people-related matters. You'll handle day-to-day operational support including questions about contracts, benefits, policies, and working conditions, ensuring employees receive clear and timely answers. You'll own critical moments in the employee lifecycle—onboarding, offboarding, documentation, and contract changes—while continuously improving these processes.
You'll manage the company's HRIS (Human Resource Information System), handling employee data, workflows, and troubleshooting to embed processes into the system rather than relying on manual workarounds. Compliance is a key responsibility: you'll monitor employment law, collective agreements, working time records, and audit requirements to stay ahead of legal obligations. You'll also drive process improvement by analyzing headcount, turnover, and absenteeism data, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing solutions.
This is a hands-on role that combines day-to-day support with strategic process work, requiring close collaboration with the People team, external advisors, and international stakeholders to ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient employee experiences across all business units.
Requirements:
- Expert-level Spanish and solid English (required for communication with international teams and Spanish labor topics)
- 3–4 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or similar generalist role, ideally in a tech or scale-up environment
- Strong understanding of Spanish labor law
- Comfortable with HRIS platforms (Factorial, Personio, BambooHR, or similar) and ability to maximize tool functionality
- Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex topics simply and be approachable
- Strong attention to detail, rigor, and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Organizational skills to manage multiple processes simultaneously without missing details
- Ownership mindset; comfortable building processes in ambiguous situations
