You will be the People Operations Generalist, owning the full-stack people function at Pragma. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage day-to-day hiring, leveling, compensation, development, and employee support across the US and internationally. You'll partner directly with founders, leadership, and Finance to build systems and processes that enable great work.
Key responsibilities include:
**People Partnering & Employee Relations:** Serve as the primary people contact for employee questions and conversations; support managers through team changes and reorganizations; handle sensitive matters including performance concerns, conflict, and terminations with discretion.
**Recruiting & Contracts:** Run recruiting end-to-end from sourcing through offer; draft and manage employment documentation for FTEs and contractors; design and improve onboarding and offboarding processes.
**Performance & Development:** Run annual and mid-year performance review cycles; build manager toolkits and enablement; own and maintain leveling frameworks and career ladders.
**Compensation, Leveling & Equity:** Partner with Finance on company-wide compensation benchmarking and banding; co-manage variable compensation for Sales and Creators teams; manage equity refreshers and administration; oversee leveling and compensation as the company scales.
**Payroll, Benefits & Compliance:** Run payroll for employees and contractors; administer benefits and 401(k); manage EOR relationships for international team members; own immigration and relocation matters; ensure compliance with employment law across all operating jurisdictions.
**People Operations & Offsites:** Plan and execute company-wide and sub-team offsites; build systems and documentation to keep People operations running smoothly.

**Requirements:**
*Experience:*
- 3-7 years in People Operations, HR, or People Partner/HR generalist role
- Background at a startup or high-growth technology company, ideally as an early or first dedicated People hire
- Hands-on experience across the full People stack: recruiting, compensation, benefits, payroll, and employee relations
- Track record of building People processes from scratch, not just administering existing ones
- Experience supporting distributed and international teams (strong plus)
*Skills:*
- Fluency with compensation and leveling (banding, benchmarking, variable comp, equity basics; familiarity with tools like Pave a plus)
- Comfortable owning sensitive conversations with empathy, discretion, and good judgment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to run comp cycles and review cycles in parallel
- Familiarity with modern People tooling (Bennie, Sterling, Common Wealth, EOR providers)
- Self-starter comfortable building process and operating with autonomy
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels

- Willingness to travel occasionally for offsites and team gatherings
