You will serve as the primary People Operations partner for Springboard's India entity, reporting directly to the Global Head of People Operations. This is a high-visibility, end-to-end HR generalist role that bridges global HR strategy with local execution across the full employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
**Global-to-India HR Alignment & Operations:** Act as the India People Operations point of contact, managing day-to-day employee queries and coordinating with managers, Finance, IT, global teams, and external vendors. Maintain accurate employee data and HRIS records (Rippling), manage employment changes, compensation updates, and documentation. Coordinate India payroll including preparation, validation, and final review with Finance partners. Maintain compliance trackers for statutory requirements, insurance, contracts, renewals, and recurring deadlines.
**Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition:** Lead end-to-end recruitment for India-based roles across tech, product, and business operations. Partner with hiring managers to develop screening criteria, interview scorecards, and competency assessments. Manage all recruitment activities including sourcing, screening, shortlisting, interview scheduling across time zones, reference checks, offer coordination, and onboarding handoff. Maintain recruitment pipelines in Greenhouse and other platforms.
**Onboarding & Employee Experience:** Own the complete employee lifecycle for India including preboarding, onboarding, employment changes, promotions, and offboarding. Drive culture-building initiatives and team offsites. Coordinate onboarding readiness across People Ops, IT, and hiring managers. Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze attrition data, and manage offboarding including asset recovery, IT/access removal, and full & final settlement.
**Compliance & Workplace Relations:** Draft, review, and implement India People policies in response to business requirements and legislative changes. Ensure strict compliance with Indian labor laws (Shops & Establishments, PF, ESIC, POSH, Gratuity). Manage People-related vendors and coordinate with payroll, insurance, legal, IT, and background verification partners. Serve as first point of contact for employee grievances with high confidentiality and empathy.
**Requirements:**
- 3–5 years of hands-on, end-to-end HR generalist experience in a fast-growing startup or tech environment
- MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred)
- Demonstrated track record across talent acquisition, HR operations, and employee engagement
- Working knowledge of Indian labor laws, PF, ESI, POSH, and basic payroll mechanics
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling, Darwinbox) and ATS tools (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever)
- High ownership, bias for action, and ability to handle ambiguity in a matrixed setup
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Empathy, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal relationship-building capabilities
