The company partners with Main Street law firms to provide AI platforms, marketing, and operational support, with an agentic operating system called Lawrence that assists lawyers with legal work.
As a People Operations Associate, you will support the employee experience across the entire lifecycle for teams in both the UK and US. You'll work within a small, hands-on People team with real exposure to all aspects of HR and ownership of end-to-end projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and manage new starter onboarding from contract creation through day one, including preparing contracts, welcome materials, induction sessions, and setting up accounts and equipment
- Serve as the main point of contact for new joiners during pre-boarding and onboarding
- Manage employee lifecycle administration, including contract changes, letters, and documentation
- Handle offboarding processes ensuring smooth transitions and compliance
- Manage probation processes, including setting up and tracking probation reviews
- Maintain and audit employee data in HiBob HRIS, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records
- Support monthly UK and US payroll by preparing accurate inputs and collaborating with People and Finance teams
- Act as first point of contact for employee queries on people topics, systems, and payroll
- Support key people projects including performance cycles, pay reviews, and benefits rollouts
- Drive engagement by supporting culture, wellbeing, learning & development, and DEI initiatives
- Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement projects to streamline operations
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in People Operations, HR coordination, or similar roles, ideally in a startup, scale-up, or small HR team
- Hands-on experience managing onboarding, including preparing contracts and handling contract changes
- Exposure to the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding
- Some exposure to payroll (UK, US, or both preferred)
- Experience working with colleagues or processes outside the UK, particularly the US, is a plus
- Familiarity with HR tools such as HiBob, Ashby, Notion, or similar, with comfort handling sensitive data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proactive mindset to spot and improve inefficiencies
