Jetson is a vertically integrated home electrification company on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy. The company is growing rapidly, with Denver serving as a key hub where new programs and products are tested before broader rollout.
This People Business Partner role is based in Centennial, CO and focuses on supporting Jetson's fast-growing hourly and field workforce. You will be a strategic partner to operations leaders and frontline supervisors, working across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and people program design.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with field operations leaders to understand workforce needs and be an accessible resource for installers and technicians
- Maintain deep expertise in Colorado labor and employment law, including wage and hour requirements, predictive scheduling, leave laws, and CDLE regulations
- Design and deliver programs that reinforce company values for hourly and field teams, translating company-wide initiatives into formats that resonate with frontline workers
- Support recruiting efforts to attract skilled tradespeople, lead onboarding programs, and work with managers on performance conversations and career development for hourly employees
- Coach frontline supervisors and operations managers on employee relations issues, difficult conversations, and people leadership skills
- Track key people metrics (turnover, engagement, compliance) and provide data-driven recommendations
- Lead investigations, mediate workplace issues, and manage employee relations matters with sound judgment and consistency
This is a builder's role in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and you'll be creating systems that actually fit the people doing the work. You'll operate in an environment that demands both operational excellence and genuine human connection with a diverse hourly workforce.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in an HR business partner, people operations, or employee relations role with meaningful experience supporting hourly and/or non-exempt workforces
- Experience with trades, construction, field services, or similar industries is strongly preferred and will be prioritized
- Deep fluency in Colorado's employment law landscape, including Colorado HELP Rules, FAMLI, HFWA, and local ordinances
- Track record of earning trust with hourly employees and understanding what people programs actually work on the ground versus in theory
- Sound judgment in sensitive situations; ability to know when to be flexible and when to hold the line
- Communication skills that adapt to different audiences, from field supervisors to installers; clear, plain-language communication is essential
- Builder's mindset and energy for creating systems in a fast-growing company
- Experience with modern tools, including AI, to automate and improve efficiency
