Salary: USD 140,000 - 180,000 / annual
Lunar Energy is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to design the next generation of circuit boards for their clean energy products, starting with home energy storage systems. The role involves full PCB layouts across multiple board types (thru-hole, SMT, mixed-signal), with emphasis on high-speed, high-voltage, and high-power designs. You'll work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to optimize part placement, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
Key responsibilities include designing and laying out diverse board types, working with power supply and switching regulator topologies, generating manufacturing output files (gerbers, BOMs, stack-ups, assembly documentation), and creating component libraries (footprints and schematic symbols). You'll apply IPC specifications to ensure design-for-manufacturability across both fabrication and assembly processes.
The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of PCB design experience with proficiency in Altium Designer. Required expertise includes power supply layout, PCB materials selection, board stack-up design, and cross-functional collaboration. You should be comfortable with both simulation and real hardware, capable of driving projects from concept through high-volume production, and committed to learning emerging technologies.
