Impulse is seeking a PCB Designer / Altium Librarian to own the creation, maintenance, and standardization of PCB component libraries for avionics and RF hardware designed to operate in space environments. You will manage schematic symbols, footprints, 3D models, and part metadata, ensuring accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with IPC Class 2/3 standards. Key responsibilities include: - Creating and maintaining comprehensive PCB component libraries for flight-critical avionics hardware - Validating new component requests, including footprints, 3D models, pin assignments, and layout constraints - Collaborating with electrical, RF, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to drive standardization and enable rapid, reliable hardware development - Mentoring engineers on library best practices, IPC standards, and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) considerations - Ensuring libraries are optimized for high-density, multilayer PCB designs and space-qualified applications - Translating schematic and layout requirements into reliable, reusable library components You will work in a cross-functional environment where your expertise in PCB design, component management, and manufacturing constraints directly impacts the quality and reliability of mission-critical hardware. This role requires deep technical knowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, and materials, combined with strong communication skills to align electrical, mechanical, systems, and manufacturing teams around library standards.
