Remote is a global employment platform that helps organizations recruit, pay, and manage international teams compliantly. The company is hiring a Payroll Vendor Relationship Manager to join the Global Payroll team, reporting to the Manager of Global Payroll Vendor Operations. In this role, you will own collaboration with external payroll partners and manage the full lifecycle of vendor relationships. Key responsibilities include: Vendor Scoping & Research: Conduct continuous market research for payroll vendors globally, evaluating criteria such as disaster recovery, compliance, data security, and processing timeliness. You'll develop questionnaires, schedule demos, perform cost analysis, and present recommendations to leadership. New Country Expansion: Project-manage end-to-end onboarding for new countries, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, legal risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, system migration, testing, and communications. Vendor Relations & Performance: Review best practices to ensure client satisfaction, optimize communication with external partners, and ensure vendors meet Remote's SLAs and KPIs. Work cross-functionally with internal teams. Cost Tracking & Analysis: Review invoices against contractual terms, document and analyze costs by country or department, and conduct headcount and legal entity analysis to improve efficiencies. Communication & Collaboration: Partner with Tax, FP&A, Legal, Security, Operations, and Onboarding teams to deploy new payroll solutions successfully. Identify deployment challenges and develop solutions. Create internal training resources and maintain frequent communication with payroll management. You should have experience in regional/global payroll vendor operations, implementing payroll software across multiple countries, and managing third-party vendor relationships. Strong contract negotiation skills, deep knowledge of global payroll best practices, and excellent spreadsheet proficiency are essential. You must be fluent in English, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working asynchronously in a fast-paced international environment.
