Justworks is seeking a Payroll Operations Specialist for the APAC region, based in Mexico City. In this role, you will serve as a critical bridge between Justworks, customers, and regional payroll providers, managing day-to-day payroll operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
You will execute core operational tasks including processing customer payroll, data entry, reviewing payroll registers from local vendors, and processing corrections. You'll coordinate and manage local payroll vendors across various APAC countries to ensure timely remittance processing and compliance with country-specific employment regulations, tax laws, and local practices.
Key responsibilities include owning the employee enrollment process from start to finish, ensuring local employment agreements are accurate and complete, and managing local registration processes. You'll monitor payroll disbursements, triage payroll-related tickets, and resolve routine issues regarding pay stubs and localized tax forms. Monthly reconciliation processes will be conducted in collaboration with payroll, benefits, and finance teams to match outputs with internal financial records and identify variances.
You will maintain and update internal payroll operations resources, country playbooks, and procedural documentation to reflect evolving regional workflows and compliance standards. You'll identify operational bottlenecks and suggest process improvements or automation tweaks to drive platform scalability. Administrative compliance audits on employee dataset inputs will ensure alignment with local statutory requirements across different APAC jurisdictions.
Success in this role requires extreme attention to detail, adaptability across global rules and fast-moving compliance regulations, strong critical thinking to assess compliance risk, clear communication to translate complex regional banking and tax concepts into actionable answers, and systems thinking to evaluate how upstream inputs impact downstream financial execution. The role emphasizes collaboration, proactive communication, vendor relationship management, and the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate complex issues.

- Familiarity with business process management activities such as process mapping, improvement, and implementing system enhancements/automation tweaks
- Strong aptitude for technology with ability to quickly master proprietary operational backends, vendor portals, and verification platforms
- Resourceful and curious self-starter who enjoys figuring things out independently and building expertise in international payroll
