Proxima Fusion is Europe's fastest-growing fusion company and the first spin-out from the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics. Backed by over €650M, the company is developing hardware and infrastructure for the world's first commercial stellarator fusion power plant, with operations across Munich, Zurich, and Oxford.
As a Partnerships Specialist, you will strengthen Proxima Fusion's relationships with research institutions, industrial partners, and government agencies while supporting critical funding initiatives. Your responsibilities include building and maintaining partnerships with public research institutions and private sector partners, bridging technology, funding, and strategic partnerships. You will support the drafting, submission, and management of public funding applications with timely communication to grant authorities, and manage relationships with governmental bodies overseeing administrative processes and long-term funding strategies.
You bring a Bachelor's degree in STEM or related fields (Master's preferred) and at least 2 years of experience in academia, consulting, government, business strategy, or adjacent fields. You are fluent in English, organized, proactive, and driven by purpose with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. You are willing to travel 1-2 times per month on average.
This role sits at L1 of Proxima's organizational framework. You will work on a civilization-scale problem—clean, baseload fusion energy—where every hire directly accelerates the path to a working stellarator. With headcount set to 5x in coming years and major technical milestones ahead, your role will grow with the company. Fusion sits at a rare intersection of deep-tech R&D, industrial procurement, government relations, and venture financing, offering challenges unique to this sector.
