As a Partnerships Business Development Representative, you will be the always-on top-of-funnel engine for healthcare data partnerships. Your core mission is to identify, qualify, and hand off promising healthcare data partners to the Strategic Partnerships team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining a targeted pipeline of prospective healthcare data partners across key modalities and market segments
- Mapping the market to identify data holders, strategic contacts, channel partners, brokers, and high-leverage sourcing paths
- Supporting development of segmentation and prioritization frameworks for prospective partners
- Staying current on market trends, incumbent and emerging players, and funding activity
- Prospecting through outbound email, calls, LinkedIn, referrals, conferences, and in-person events
- Running first-touch discovery conversations to assess dataset quality, licensing posture, commercial flexibility, and scalability
- Evaluating opportunities against Protege fit criteria including data relevance, operational readiness, partner sophistication, and valuation potential
- Creating concise handoff briefs for deeper qualification and deal work
- Maintaining pipeline hygiene in Salesforce and owning conversion and funnel metrics
- Supporting development of category briefs, market maps, and collateral
- Monitoring inbound interest and collaborating with Marketing to improve conversion
- Feeding market insights back into healthcare partnership strategy
Success milestones: Within 30 days, establish fluency in Protege's healthcare thesis and build an initial market map and prospecting cadence. Within 60 days, consistently generate qualified discovery conversations and identify promising partner categories. Within 90 days, operate as a reliable sourcing engine with clean reporting, improving conversion quality, and clear visibility into high-value segments and channels.
Ideal candidates have experience in business development, partnerships, or outbound sourcing in fast-moving environments, ideally with healthcare relationships. You should be energized by building from scratch, strong at research and qualification, able to speak credibly about data commercialization, highly organized and metrics-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally. Healthcare data, healthcare partnerships, or AI data ecosystem experience is strongly preferred.
