Anthropic is seeking a Partnership Manager to lead and grow the AI for Science Program, a foundational initiative deploying Claude across life sciences research domains including biomedical sciences, chemistry, and materials science. This role sits within the Beneficial Deployments team, which focuses on ensuring AI reaches and benefits communities that need it most.
You will own Anthropic's AI for Science API credit strategy, managing partnerships with academic labs, early-stage companies, and foundations worldwide. Key responsibilities include identifying and onboarding new partners through application processes and targeted relationship building; serving as the primary relationship owner coordinating with Applied AI, product, and go-to-market teams; compiling ecosystem learnings to inform research and GTM priorities; managing program timelines and reporting; understanding partners' technical and operational needs to translate into deployment plans; engaging in early technical prototyping to unblock partners; setting a research agenda for measuring AI impact across labs; identifying opportunities for public goods like open-source tools and datasets; representing Anthropic at scientific conferences; and helping shape team processes as the Life Sciences work scales.
Ideal candidates bring 7+ years of life sciences research experience with exposure to technology as a catalyst for progress, plus 3+ years managing external partnerships, grantmaking, or multi-stakeholder initiatives. You should have deep relationships and credibility in life sciences domains, familiarity with key players at major universities and research institutes, and technical fluency to engage credibly on AI concepts and LLM capabilities. An analytical mindset, experience building communities of practice, entrepreneurial drive (ideally from startup or founding roles), genuine commitment to impact for underserved communities, high agency with comfort for ambiguity, strong prioritization skills, and willingness to travel occasionally are essential.
