Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Packaging Engineer to join the Supply Chain team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining end-to-end packaging solutions for supplier packaging, internal packaging, and finished goods packaging for advanced defense systems.
You will partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to design packaging that protects high-value and sensitive technology during transport, storage, and deployment. Key responsibilities include leading the design of internal packaging solutions for production line delivery, conducting material selection and supplier evaluations, developing and reviewing prototype requirements, and managing sourcing activities.
You will collaborate cross-functionally on demand forecasting, procurement planning, and timely delivery of packaging materials. The role requires leading risk assessments and investigations for packaging-related issues in transportation and storage, utilizing ERP and WMS software systems to track inventory and generate data-driven insights. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of packaging engineering experience in high-rate supply chain or manufacturing environments with complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies. You must be able to travel up to 25% and relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local. U.S. Secret security clearance eligibility is required.
Preferred qualifications include a degree in mechanical or materials engineering, experience with packaging in automotive, defense, semiconductor industries, familiarity with defense packaging standards and MIL specs, knowledge of supply chain principles and inventory management, proficiency in AutoCAD/SolidWorks/PackAssistant, ERP system experience (NetSuite/Oracle), and hazardous material packaging knowledge.
