Wave is a fintech company building financial services for Sub-Saharan Africa, with millions of users across 9 countries. As Operations Training Regional Lead based in Kinshasa, you will establish and oversee the training foundation for Wave's launch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, managing all training activities for the agent network.
Key responsibilities include:
**Training Needs Assessment:** Lead the regional operations team to identify opportunities for improving operational execution. Determine training requirements by reviewing country-level training strategy and agent trainer coaching results, then evaluate training effectiveness.
**Training Material Development:** Lead translation of training content into English and French. Use observations and data-driven insights to improve training materials. Assist with training vocals and video recording.
**Training Planning & Delivery:** Execute individual training sessions both on-site and remotely. Perform agent visits to address action items. Coordinate and assist with training and implementation of new rollouts regionally in liaison with regional and territory leads. Plan and execute the transition from face-to-face to digital agent training.
**Training Administration & Evaluation:** Manage training administration for assigned regions, including monitoring Slack channels and WhatsApp groups for training requirements and gaps. Evaluate and report on training program effectiveness. Gather feedback from trainees to determine instructional effectiveness. Ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement standards for OKRs, e-learning, and key skills training targets.
You will work from Wave's Kinshasa office and may travel to field locations. This is a permanent position. Work authorization in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is required.
**Requirements:**
- Fluent in French, English, and good command of local languages
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience, specifically managing training or an agent network
- Prior work experience in learning & development, teaching, and/or training administration in a corporate setting (preferred)
- Proficiency in group training, presentations, and public speaking
- Ability to analyze data to measure training ROI and identify operational gaps
- Experience facilitating group learning events
- Comfortable working in the field and interacting regularly with agents face-to-face
- Experience building and leading strong teams to achieve key results
- Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in digital training tools including Google Sheets and Slack
- Master's degree or equivalent job experience in a related field (preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Self-disciplined, highly motivated, and able to work independently
