Fuse Energy is a venture-backed energy startup ($200M+ raised from Balderton, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit and others) building an integrated energy company that combines solar, batteries, grid infrastructure, AI, and distributed energy solutions sold directly to consumers.
You will be one of the founding members launching Fuse's entirely new business unit in Australia, based in Melbourne. This is not a traditional operations role—there is no playbook. You'll operate as a Swiss army knife, building core operations from scratch and scaling a new market entry with direct exposure to leadership and significant ownership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up core operations for the Australian business unit: processes, systems, vendor relationships, and infrastructure
- Owning critical launch workstreams end-to-end and driving them to completion with minimal direction
- Building the operating rhythm, reporting frameworks, and KPIs that keep the business running smoothly
- Working across commercial, regulatory, finance, people, and customer functions as priorities shift
- Identifying bottlenecks quickly and implementing fixes, whether through process design or hands-on problem-solving
- Managing relationships with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders across the Australian market
- Serving as the link between the Australian team and Fuse's global leadership in London
- Leveraging data and AI tools to improve decision-making and eliminate manual work
The pace is fast and demanding. You'll have huge ownership and the chance to shape how Fuse operates in a brand new market.
Requirements:
- Up to 5 years of experience in a demanding environment
- Strong academic record from a top university in a STEM subject
- Evidence of hard work and high standards
- Exceptionally driven with high agency and a track record of making things happen
- Very sharp problem solver who can break down messy, ambiguous challenges
- Comfortable operating without structure and building it as you go
- Clear communicator who can work with stakeholders at every level
