The Exploration Company is developing Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo transport and eventual human missions. As the AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) Manager for the Nyx-e Cargo Capsule, you will lead all assembly, integration, and testing activities from the Munich facility.
You will manage a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing the execution of AIT operations while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical activities. Key responsibilities include: managing AIT schedules and budgets; developing and maintaining AIT plans, procedures, and test sequences; interfacing with design, quality, and program teams to optimize cost and schedule; resolving anomalies during integration and testing; conducting risk assessments and test readiness reviews; managing Ground Support Equipment (GSE) design and procurement; supporting equipment purchases and hiring; and establishing the AIT team and integration facility in Munich.
You will drive continuous improvement of AIT processes, ensure consistency between GSE design and operational needs, and provide regular reporting on progress, blockages, and recommendations. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels while maintaining a hands-on, problem-solving approach.
The ideal candidate has an advanced engineering degree (Master's or PhD), 10+ years in aerospace with late-stage project execution experience, and 10+ years specifically in aerospace vehicle AIT. Experience setting up AIT facilities is valued. You should be organized, rigorous, inventive, and demonstrate strong team spirit with a positive, flexible attitude.
