Aalo Atomics is pioneering factory-fabricated microreactors to deliver affordable, scalable, and reliable nuclear power globally. The Nuclear Operations Training Manager establishes and leads an accredited-style training and qualification program for operations personnel across Aalo's reactor fleet. This role owns the systematic approach to training, qualification standards, examination integrity, instructor performance, training records, and continuing-education programs.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining initial and continuing training programs for Shift Managers, Senior Reactor Operators, and operations-support personnel using DOE-compliant frameworks designed for future NRC transition. You will develop position-specific qualification standards, task analyses, learning objectives, lesson plans, examinations, simulator scenarios, on-the-job training guides, and oral boards. The role requires establishing and protecting examination security, test-item quality, grading standards, and remediation requirements while ensuring independent review of all training products.
You will define prerequisites and experience requirements for each operating position, verify personnel are trained and evaluated, and formally authorize them before independent assignment. Integration of plant design, safety basis, operating limits, procedures, lessons learned, and corrective actions into training content is critical before affected work is performed. Instructor and evaluator qualification, technical accuracy, instructional skill development, and documented performance feedback are core to the program.
Simulator capability planning, fidelity management, scenario development, and configuration control support startup, normal operations, transients, abnormal events, and emergencies. You will maintain complete, auditable training and qualification records including attendance, examinations, evaluations, waivers, extensions, remediation, and requalification status. Measuring training effectiveness through field observations, performance trends, examination results, event reviews, and supervisor feedback drives continuous improvement.
The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Nuclear Operations and works closely with the Plant Operations Director, Nuclear Facility Managers, Engineering, Nuclear Safety, ES&H, Quality, and Maintenance. Senior management support is provided for this mission-critical function.
