Exotec designs and delivers advanced automation solutions for warehouse optimization. As North America Maintenance Manager, you will report directly to the Maintenance Director and serve as the operational leader for maintenance activities across approximately 14 customer sites throughout the United States and Canada.
You will oversee Site Team Leaders and maintenance teams while helping Exotec scale its maintenance organization, standardize best practices, and build capabilities for supporting increasingly complex integrated automation solutions. This is a highly visible role that will serve as the North American voice within the global maintenance organization and help shape how Exotec supports multi-vendor automated warehouse environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading maintenance teams, site leaders, and technicians across multiple customer sites
- Managing workload balancing and resource allocation across North America
- Establishing and deploying maintenance best practices across sites
- Supporting recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of maintenance team members
- Identifying skill gaps and coordinating training and talent deployment between sites
- Collaborating with Maintenance Engineering teams to improve service delivery and reliability
- Partnering with Deployment teams to ensure successful maintenance transitions for new sites
- Defining maintenance organization structures for newly commissioned locations
- Supporting Safety and operational teams regarding regional regulations and compliance requirements
- Ensuring adherence to EHS standards and safe working practices
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance network
- Managing vendor relationships, service providers, spare parts strategies, and escalation processes across multiple equipment suppliers
- Acting as a key point of coordination between customer sites, Exotec teams, and third-party equipment providers
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in highly automated industrial environments
- Experience managing maintenance operations supporting automated distribution, logistics, fulfillment, or e-commerce systems
- Multi-site maintenance leadership experience
- Proven ability to drive consistency, governance, and operational discipline across geographically dispersed teams
- Experience leading both internal maintenance teams and third-party service providers
- Demonstrated success coaching, developing, and leading technical teams
- Strong escalation management experience with equipment suppliers and external vendors
- Professional proficiency in English
- Able to travel approximately 50%
- Available for occasional after-hours or weekend escalation support is a plus
- Experience with complex multi-vendor automation environments (conveyor systems, sortation systems, pallet transport systems, packaging automation, Warehouse Control Systems, integrated material handling solutions)
- Experience from warehouse automation integrators or highly automated logistics operators managing multiple equipment providers is highly valued
