Neuralink is developing brain-computer interface devices that restore movement to the paralyzed, restore sight to the blind, and revolutionize human-digital interaction. The Next Gen team is building the next generation of bidirectional neural interfaces to help people with neurological disorders.
As a Neuroengineer on this team, you will work across a diverse range of projects spanning experimental design, neural signal interpretation, and BCI paradigm development. Your responsibilities include:
- Develop computational models and design encoding strategies for electrical stimulation of neural tissue
- Design, execute, interpret, and communicate results of neural recording and stimulation experiments
- Implement end-to-end hardware and software solutions for prosthetic vision applications, including machine vision algorithms, smart glasses, and eye tracking technology
- Run and support research sessions in coordination with software engineers, field engineers, and animal specialists
- Present and communicate findings in collaborative settings
You will need exceptional ability in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, machine learning, or a related field, with 4+ years of academic or industry experience. Strong understanding of the scientific method and engineering first principles is essential. Fluency with Python for data analysis is required.
Preferred qualifications include experience with modern statistical inference and machine learning (especially machine vision), neural stimulation, computational modeling of electrical stimulation effects (NEURON environment), finite element modeling (FEM) for electric fields, experimental instrumentation design and programming, and in-vivo electrophysiology with awake behaving recordings and closed-loop brain-computer interfaces.
This is a full-time position offering competitive base salary ($122,000–$226,000 USD), equity (RSUs), comprehensive medical/dental/vision insurance, paid holidays, commuter benefits, meals, 401(k), parental leave, and flexible time off.
