Island is building an enterprise platform that unifies AI enablement, network access, data protection, identity, and endpoint control into a single workspace. The company is backed by top-tier investors including Coatue Management, Insight Partners, and Sequoia Capital, and serves some of the world's largest enterprises.
As a Network QA Engineer, you will own the quality of Island's Enterprise Network products, including ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), SWG (Secure Web Gateway), SASE (Secure Access Service Edge), and VPN. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining the test frameworks that verify how traffic is routed, inspected, secured, and delivered across real enterprise environments. Your work will catch problems before customers encounter them in production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain comprehensive automated test suites for the network stack, covering ZTNA policy enforcement, SWG traffic inspection, SASE routing, and VPN tunneling at both end-to-end and component levels.
- Grow and enhance the network test automation infrastructure, expanding coverage for new features and hardening existing test suites as the product evolves.
- Build and manage realistic test environments that reproduce actual customer topologies, including varied network conditions, identity providers, operating systems, and browsers.
- Validate performance, reliability, and security behavior under load, latency, and failure scenarios that mirror real enterprise deployments.
- Plan and execute manual testing for new releases where automation gaps exist, then convert repeatable manual test cases into automated ones.
- Work closely with the R&D team as a deep source of product and protocol knowledge.
This role offers the opportunity to impact how enterprises secure their modern workplaces while working with cutting-edge network security technologies.
