Gimlet Labs is building a multi-silicon neocloud platform that intelligently partitions and routes AI workloads across heterogeneous hardware for optimized inference performance and efficiency. The company is seeking a Network Engineering Lead to own the complete strategy, architecture, design, deployment standards, and operations of network infrastructure powering Gimlet's AI datacenters. In this senior technical leadership role, you will define Gimlet's end-to-end network architecture across multiple data centers, AI clusters, customer-facing services, management networks, and inter-site connectivity. You will own the network roadmap for current and future sites, including capacity planning, topology, scaling strategy, redundancy, performance, and operational readiness. Your responsibilities span both front-end connectivity (customer services, external networks) and back-end AI infrastructure fabrics (GPU clusters, storage, control planes, data center interconnect). Key deliverables in the first 12-18 months include establishing network architecture from first principles, designing both front-end and back-end connectivity, setting standards for routing, switching, IP addressing, cabling, optics, and observability, and building repeatable deployment and validation processes for new sites. You will partner across Data Center Operations, Deployment, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Engineering to bring new capacity online, own network operations including monitoring and incident response, and create the hiring and team plan for Network Engineering. You should have deep experience designing and operating large-scale data center networks, cloud networks, AI infrastructure networks, or hyperscale environments. Hands-on expertise with routing, switching, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, spine-leaf fabrics, WAN/DCI, out-of-band management, optics, and network telemetry is essential. Experience with AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, InfiniBand, RoCE, RDMA, or HPC environments is highly valued. You should be comfortable with vendor evaluation, build-vs-buy decisions, network automation (Python, Go, Ansible, Terraform), and leading senior engineers.
