Better.com (NEO Home Loans) is seeking a Loan Specialist to manage end-to-end mortgage loan application processing. This role sits at the operational heart of the lending process, coordinating between loan officers, underwriters, processors, and external stakeholders like real estate agents and title companies.
Key responsibilities include: processing mortgage applications and collecting required documentation; organizing and maintaining loan files in compliance with regulatory standards; serving as primary client contact for application status updates; coordinating with internal teams (underwriting, processing, closing) and external parties to ensure smooth workflow; conducting quality assurance checks on loan documentation; monitoring the loan pipeline to track progress and meet closing deadlines; proactively identifying and resolving issues; and providing administrative support to loan officers.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field, plus minimum 5 years of mortgage industry experience. You should be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable with mortgage software and documentation tools. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills are essential. The role values high integrity, service-first mindset, and team collaboration.
