Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion. The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) team develops software for autonomous robotics systems including the Fury unmanned fighter jet and Barracuda family of advanced effects.
You will join the Vehicle Software team as a Senior Software Engineer, responsible for building the foundational software stack that powers these systems. This role involves developing software for vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry across the full lifecycle—from early concept simulation through first flight to live operations and fleet management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing production-grade Rust and/or C++ software in Linux environments
- Building data processing and analysis solutions for complex autonomous systems
- Navigating and contributing to established, complex codebases
- Collaborating with other engineering disciplines (controls, hardware, autonomy) to integrate vehicle software
- Traveling up to 20% to support real-world testing, deployment, and operations
Required qualifications:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
- 3+ years of production-grade Rust and/or C++ experience in Linux environments
- Experience building software for significant data processing and analysis
- Ability to quickly understand complex systems and established codebases
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance
Preferred qualifications include strong backgrounds in Physics/Mathematics, experience with multi-agent autonomous systems, behavior tree development, flight systems and safety-critical software, distributed communication networks, and knowledge of military systems and tactics.
