Salary: USD 146,000 - 194,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Motor Control Electrical Systems Engineer to join the Tactical Recon & Strike team in Costa Mesa, California. This role focuses on developing high-performance motor control systems for advanced aerial drones (Group 1-3) used in defense and aerospace applications. You will lead end-to-end development from architecture and board design through hardware-software integration, flight testing, and customer delivery. Key responsibilities include guiding cross-functional teams through architecture trades and board design; driving motor control fundamentals for optimal performance in contested environments; troubleshooting issues spanning electrical and software boundaries using lab equipment and debugging tools; collaborating with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers; and supporting both new product development and active field deployments. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Sciences, or equivalent; 5+ years designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex embedded systems; demonstrated motor controls experience; lab-based prototyping and R&D experience; experience with products in extreme environments (aerospace/defense); demonstrated mixed-signal circuit design and integration; U.S. Person status; and eligibility for an active U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated ownership of unit/subsystem payloads; technical leadership experience; systems engineering and architectural trade experience; embedded software/firmware proficiency (C/Linux); safety-critical environment development experience; and knowledge of embedded software protocols including timers, interrupts, and hardware peripherals (SPI, ADCs).
