Lightmatter is a venture-backed company revolutionizing AI data center infrastructure through photonics technology. The company invented Passage™, a 3D-stacked photonics engine that connects thousands to millions of processors at the speed of light for advanced AI and HPC workloads. Recently raised $400M in Series D at a $4.4B valuation.
You will own mixed-signal architecture validation for Lightmatter's Passage product line, working at the intersection of photonics, analog/mixed-signal circuits, and digital systems. Reporting to the Head of Product Validation, you'll partner closely with architecture, chip design, digital, analog, photonic, and software teams to validate and specify system-level mixed-signal designs from concept through high-volume production.
Key responsibilities include: architecting and validating mixed-signal circuits for high-speed analog/photonic links (including high-speed drivers/receivers, SerDes, ADCs/DACs, digital controllers, photonic modulators/detectors); translating pre-silicon verification into post-silicon validation; collaborating with test and validation engineers to validate hardware against simulation; supporting firmware validation; authoring and reviewing architectural specifications and test methodologies; and identifying improvements and mitigation strategies.
You'll influence product definition and technological roadmaps, and work on groundbreaking challenges in building next-generation data center infrastructure. The role requires deep expertise in mixed-signal design flows, particularly for photonic communication channels, combined with hands-on lab experience and strong cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
