Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) division develops autonomous robotics systems including the Fury unmanned fighter jet and Barracuda family of advanced effects. The Vehicle Software team is responsible for the software running on these systems, collaborating across engineering disciplines to develop software for vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry.
You will build the foundational vehicle software stack supporting AD&S initiatives from early concept simulation through first flight, live operations, and large-scale fleet management. This role requires strong C++ and/or Rust experience in Linux environments, with a focus on production-grade code handling significant data processing and analysis. You'll navigate complex systems and established codebases while contributing to critical software with real-world impact.
Required qualifications include a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field; 3+ years of production C++/Rust experience in Linux; and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance. The role involves up to 30% travel for building, testing, and deploying capabilities in real-world environments.
Preferred experience includes strong backgrounds in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning for modeling and simulation; developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments; feature and algorithm development with behavior trees; software/hardware development for flight systems and safety-critical functionality; distributed communication networks and message standards; and knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
