Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Air Dominance & Strike (AD&S) Vehicle Software team develops software for autonomous robotics systems including the Fury unmanned fighter jet and Barracuda family of advanced effects. This role focuses on building the foundational vehicle software stack supporting vehicle control, networking, sensor integration, and telemetry across the full lifecycle from early concept simulation through first flight, live operations, and large-scale fleet management.
You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop critical software that powers next-generation autonomous systems. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to navigate complex systems and established codebases. You'll work with multiple programming languages (Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript) and build solutions involving significant data processing and analysis.
Required qualifications include an active U.S. Secret security clearance (must be maintainable), 3+ years of professional programming experience, and a strong engineering background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. You must demonstrate the ability to quickly understand complex systems and a genuine desire to work on critical software with real-world military impact.
Preferred experience includes backgrounds in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning for modeling and simulation; developing and testing multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments; feature and algorithm development with behavior trees; flight systems and safety-critical software development; distributed communication networks and message standards; and knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
