Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, and networking. The Connected Warfare division's Mission Command team builds, deploys, and scales software and hardware to deliver mission-critical capabilities to defense customers. As a Mission Software Engineer, you will own software solutions spanning core mesh platforms, data interfaces, and release management deployed directly to customers. You'll deliver well-architected systems using modern software engineering practices—code reviews, design reviews—while championing scalability, reliability, testability, portability, and maintainability. Key responsibilities include: - Owning end-to-end software solutions for critical mission capabilities like Lattice Mesh and Joint All Domain Command & Control - Driving software solutions from concept through deployment, partnering closely with end-users to translate complex operational needs into features - Collaborating across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex cross-functional functionality - Ensuring system health through monitoring, metrics analysis, production issue triage, root-cause analysis, and coordinated resolution - Traveling 10–30% to meet customers globally, collaborate with distributed teams, understand real-world operating conditions, and deploy capabilities in the field You'll work on novel problems across networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and distributed data layers. The role balances intentional long-term system design with pragmatic tradeoffs to meet immediate customer needs, always keeping the mission top-of-mind. Required: 3–10+ years with multiple programming languages (Go, Rust, C++, Java, Python); strong background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Networking, Mathematics, or Physics; experience building data-intensive software solutions; ability to navigate complex systems and codebases; Netherlands security screening eligibility (AIVD Level A or B). Preferred: distributed systems design experience; proven delivery in startup/high-growth environments; deep networking expertise for non-standard conditions; cloud platform familiarity (AWS, Azure); comprehensive understanding of computer and network architecture; professional SDLC experience (version control, CI/CD); monitoring, logging, and data management tools expertise.
