Salary: USD 166,000 - 220,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, and robotics. The Air Dominance & Strike team develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems, including Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile), alongside Lattice for Mission Autonomy—a software platform enabling coordinated autonomous operations across multiple platforms.
As a Mission Software Engineer specializing in Air Vehicle Autonomy, you will contribute to building a comprehensive autonomy software stack encompassing computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications. You'll work alongside specialist teams in Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve critical problems in autonomous flight systems.
Required qualifications include eligibility for a U.S. Top Secret security clearance, a strong engineering background (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics), and 3+ years of professional experience with multiple programming languages (Java, Python, C++, Rust, Go, JavaScript). You must demonstrate proficiency in building data-intensive software solutions, navigating complex codebases, and a commitment to creating software with real-world impact.
Preferred experience includes backgrounds in Physics, Mathematics, or Motion Planning; development and deployment of multi-agent autonomous systems in real-world environments; feature and algorithm development using behavior trees; flight systems and safety-critical software development; distributed communication networks and message standards; and knowledge of military systems and operational tactics.
