Saronic Technologies is seeking a Mission Operations Specialist to serve as the critical link between autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) and DoD customers. This role combines field operations, technical support, and project coordination to ensure successful integration and deployment of cutting-edge maritime autonomous systems.
You will plan and execute ASV missions, providing on-site technical support during product integration, installation, commissioning, and ongoing operations at partner and customer locations. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting complex technical issues with autonomous vessels and software, collaborating on system integration to ensure seamless interoperability with customer infrastructure, and conducting training sessions on vessel operation and maintenance.
The role requires operating ASVs during missions, monitoring real-time vessel performance and sensor data, and implementing contingency plans to ensure mission continuity. You will collect and analyze mission data to generate comprehensive reports with actionable insights for engineering teams. Additionally, you'll coordinate travel logistics, develop mission plans considering route optimization and environmental conditions, and ensure compliance with DoD policies and maritime safety standards.
You will act as a technical liaison between DoD customers and internal Saronic teams, building strong relationships through exceptional support and effective communication. The position demands identifying process improvements based on customer feedback and field experiences, then collaborating with internal teams to implement enhancements.
This is a highly collaborative role requiring frequent travel (up to 80%) to domestic and international partner locations. You must be comfortable spending extended periods on the water, lifting up to 75 lbs., and demonstrating swimming/water safety competency. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in field support or customer-facing technical roles with complex systems, strong project coordination skills, and preferably prior special operations forces (SOF) experience.
