CHAOS Industries is a defense technology company founded in 2022 and backed by $1 billion in funding from investors including 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. The company develops multi-product solutions powered by Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN™) that serve warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams. CHAOS is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in Washington D.C., San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and London. The Mission Operations Manager role is an operator-focused position reporting to the Chief of Staff, Business Development. This is not a project coordinator role—you will translate strategy into execution, create clarity from ambiguity, and remove friction before it impacts customers. Key Responsibilities: Design Operational Systems That Scale: Translate strategic priorities into operational reality by identifying gaps between strategy and execution. Design and continuously improve scalable workflows across demonstrations, deliveries, customer onboarding, training, resource planning, approvals, and cross-functional handoffs. Build repeatable operating models, playbooks, and templates that enable the Mission organization to scale while preserving flexibility. Identify operational bottlenecks and remove execution friction to improve speed, quality, and predictability. Turn Activity into Insight: Define metrics that matter and establish systems to measure, track, and report on operational performance. Maintain high-quality data across dashboards and business systems to enable informed decision-making. Analyze operational trends, identify improvement opportunities and risks, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership. Embed Across the Business: Partner closely with cross-functional teams (Growth, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Revenue Operations) to understand how work gets done and where it can be improved. Facilitate communication and alignment across teams. Support the Mission organization in scaling without adding unnecessary complexity. One month you may be redesigning deployment planning processes; the next, building new operating rhythms for training initiatives or developing metrics that help leadership make better decisions. Workplace: Full-time onsite in the London office with regular travel (approximately 20%) to Los Angeles HQ for product testing, customer demonstrations, and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in operations, business operations, program management, or related roles - Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable operational systems - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with comfort translating data into actionable insights - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities - Ability to thrive in ambiguity and drive results with limited direction - Familiarity with the defense industry and government acquisition process (preferred) - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as Slack, Jira, Salesforce, Asana, Confluence, and Foundry - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Communications, Political Science, or a related field
