Sportradar's Sports Data & Odds Engineering organization is seeking a Mid-Level Java Software Engineer to join the Warsaw development team. You will work on highly scalable, mission-critical systems that process millions of real-time sports events daily for media companies, sports federations, betting operators, and consumer apps across 120 countries and 30+ sports disciplines.
In this role, you will build and maintain high-performance Java services running 24/7 at global scale on AWS infrastructure. You'll work across the full software development lifecycle—design, implementation, testing, and production—with mentorship from experienced engineers who value craftsmanship. You'll contribute to cloud-native solutions, participate in architecture and design discussions, and develop deep domain expertise in a technically demanding real-time environment.
Key responsibilities include developing distributed systems that handle millions of events daily, writing clean and well-tested code, collaborating on peer reviews, working closely with senior engineers through pair programming, and embracing test-driven development practices. **Requirements:**
- 2+ years of professional software development experience with delivered production Java software
- Clean, maintainable, well-tested code writing with pride in quality
- Understanding of object-oriented design principles and when to apply them
- Comfort working in agile teams with clear communication skills
- Genuine curiosity about technology, domain, and people
- Bonus: Experience with AWS, Kafka, Docker, or Kubernetes (appetite to learn is equally valued)
