Form Energy is seeking a seasoned MES Engineer to lead their Manufacturing Control and Execution Systems organization at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. This is a high-impact leadership role managing a team of MES Technicians while owning the reliability, maintenance, and day-to-day optimization of mission-critical factory software systems.
You will serve as the essential "Business Translator" between the manufacturing floor and core development engineering teams. Key responsibilities include leading floor-level software sustaining for the plant software suite (MES, QMS, WMS, ERP); partnering with Controls, Robotics, and SCADA teams to investigate and resolve complex physical-to-software issues; collaborating with core development teams to escalate bugs, test patches, and deploy optimization tools; coordinating daily with Production, Quality, and Warehouse/Logistics teams; identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities; managing resource scheduling for 24/7 operations; and mentoring MES Technicians to elevate their technical capabilities.
Required qualifications include 6+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial automation, manufacturing execution systems, or plant software environments; 2+ years of people management experience hiring and leading technical teams; strong cross-functional communication skills; proven ability to maintain and manage enterprise-scale software products; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; and extensive experience working on fast-paced manufacturing floors.
