Illumio is the leader in ransomware and breach containment, recognized as a Leader in the Forrester Wave for Microsegmentation. The company's breach containment platform identifies and contains threats across hybrid multi-cloud environments using the Illumio AI Security Graph.
In this role, you will develop containerized microservices for a distributed multi-tenant system that processes real-time data, events, and network telemetry from multiple public clouds. You'll provide real-time insights, visibility, and security recommendations to customers, enabling them to identify and minimize risk in cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design services, work through architectural details, defend designs before peers, and deliver robust implementations
- Mentor junior engineers, new graduates, and interns to help them grow and become productive team members
- Own critical features and subsystems across the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements clarification through successful deployment and customer usage
- Own operational aspects of the system, gaining first-hand experience with operational challenges to inform better, more supportable software design
- Ensure code quality through early developer testing and functional/integration testing to build robust, resilient products
- Partner with Product Management to review and refine requirements that exceed customer expectations
- Develop deep understanding of fundamental customer problems through stakeholder and peer interaction
You will primarily write code in Go and work with data pipelines using SQL or similar interfaces. The platform leverages Kubernetes for service infrastructure. The role requires 5 on-site days per week at Sunnyvale headquarters.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Master's degree a plus)
- 2+ years building distributed and scalable software systems
- Passion for software development, willingness to constantly learn and keep up with technological trends
- AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud experience at the API/programming level; networking and security controls experience is a plus
- Experience delivering containerized services on Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Go and SQL
- REST API client experience
- General TCP/IP networking knowledge
- Unix/Linux programming environment experience
- CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible experience is nice to have
