Honcho is a rapidly growing AI platform solving personal identity and cognitive alignment for the agentic world. The company has experienced 50x developer growth in three months with 40,000+ prosumers and developers, and 600+ startups in their program. As a Forward Deployed Engineer (Member of Technical Staff), you'll be the technical resource for customers integrating Honcho into their products, workflows, and agents. The role operates on three core loops: (1) Build collateral—create reference integrations, demos, and templates that become adapters and documentation for future customers; (2) Implement with customers—customize base templates to specific use cases, own accounts end-to-end from introduction through implementation, and build evaluation frameworks so customers can measure Honcho's impact; (3) Keep it moving—triage inbound requests, track customer progress in the CRM, and unstick stalled conversations. You'll operate with significant autonomy, working closest with DevRel, GTM, and co-founders. Your field insights directly inform product development, and you'll contribute to Honcho itself when needed. This role carries the same technical bar as core engineering but focuses on external codebases and customer-facing technical leadership rather than internal product development. Required: 5+ years of experience (or equivalent body of work). Strong foundation in Python backend (FastAPI or similar) and/or TypeScript, SQL databases and data modeling, LLM integration, agentic orchestration, containerization/orchestration (Kubernetes, Nomad), API design, and enough front-end capability to ship a demo UI. You must be able to grok complex systems quickly, ship products that users depend on, and operate across the full stack. Excellent communication skills, strong self-direction, and obsession with customer outcomes are essential. Preferred: cryptography, machine learning, or identity systems expertise; interests in cognitive sciences (linguistics, neuroscience, philosophy, psychology); active in the open-source AI community. Compensation: $190K–$215K base + equity. In-person in NYC required.
