Qumulo is seeking a Member of Technical Staff to own the consumption metering and marketplace submission pipeline—a revenue-critical system that ingests customer usage hourly, rates it, and submits to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud marketplaces. This is a solo-engineer ownership role with full authority over system reliability, architecture, and operational standards. You will inherit a solid first-version codebase and set the reliability bar yourself. Day one includes production ownership: code review, CI/CD, deployment, incident response, and on-call rotation. Your core responsibilities include building alerting, retries, idempotency, and self-recovery mechanisms; writing runbooks for safe on-call operations; replacing bespoke per-product logic with a unified submission engine; and acting as the named risk steward for revenue correctness. The technical stack is Python on AWS serverless (Lambda, EventBridge, SNS/SQS), Azure Functions, the m3ter platform, and cloud marketplace APIs. You'll partner with Product to turn metering data into customer-facing features (live balances, hourly-accurate usage, burn-rate forecasting) and translate requirements across Finance, Sales Operations, Customer Success, and engineering. Required: 4+ years professional software engineering experience; production ownership of a system that mattered; concrete knowledge of idempotency, retries, and alerting; Python proficiency or proven ability to ramp fast; shipped serverless, event-driven systems on at least one major cloud; integrated with external systems in production (billing platforms, marketplaces, payment providers, ERP/CRM); modern CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows. Bonus: experience with m3ter, Stripe Billing, Metronome, or Orb. Qumulo manages exabytes of data for 1,100+ customers across media, healthcare, energy, research, and public sector. The Cork hub opened in March 2026 as part of European R&D expansion. Hybrid role: 3 days onsite, 2 remote. Competitive salary, equity, pension, healthcare, and home office reimbursement.
