Socket.dev is hiring a Member of Technical Staff to join their early-stage engineering team. The company helps developers and security teams ship faster by cutting out security busywork, with customers including Anthropic, xAI, Figma, and Vercel. In this role, you will be a founding engineer responsible for building Socket's web application end-to-end. You'll contribute across the full stack—from designing and implementing production web applications to building and integrating APIs, working with relational databases like Postgres, and collaborating closely with design and product teams to shape the roadmap.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing the Socket web application end-to-end, working with Node.js, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
- Collaborating with the design team to create interfaces that deliver elegant, delightful user experiences
- Writing APIs to deliver data from multiple sources and extracting/transforming data from third-party APIs
- Helping shape the product roadmap and planning sprints for rapid feature delivery
- Being a key part of hiring and team growth decisions as an early team member
You should have experience working on early-stage teams in 0-1 roles and want to return to building foundational systems. You're proficient in Node.js, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript, with experience designing and implementing production web applications, building APIs, and working with relational databases. Bonus experience includes GraphQL, ElasticSearch, headless browsers, and data pipelines. You're adaptable, not bound to a particular tech stack, and can learn new technologies quickly.
