Adyen is building a top-tier AI engineering team in San Francisco to drive innovation using AI across the entire company. As a Member of Technical Staff, you will operate with high autonomy and responsibility, delivering strategic, high-impact outcomes that bridge cutting-edge AI research and production-grade applications in financial technology.
You will drive execution of Adyen's AI strategy, focusing on practical applications of Generative AI and other AI methodologies in finance. Key areas include AI agents for data analysis and operational workflows, human-in-the-loop systems for integrity risk management, and development of foundation models. You'll contribute to initiatives like the Data Agent Benchmark for Multi-step Reasoning (DABStep), which evaluates AI agents on real-world financial data analysis tasks.
Your responsibilities include bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI research and production by implementing research papers into robust, scalable, production-ready code. You'll reduce complexity and dependencies across teams by championing engineering and scientific alignment while setting high quality standards. You'll contribute to defining the long-term vision for AI at Adyen, understanding how AI will interact with humans and finance across consumers, merchants, and financial institutions, while staying informed on regulation and advocating for safe innovation.
You will drive innovation by challenging the status quo, introducing transformative ideas, and implementing creative solutions to real-world problems. You'll provide mentorship and horizontal sponsorship across the organization, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. You'll actively pair with other engineering teams to solve deep technical challenges and remain hands-on with code, whether creating proof-of-concepts or fixing critical performance issues. You'll connect with the broader AI community, including startups, VCs, and AI labs, to stay informed of latest advancements and identify partnership opportunities.
