Nutanix is seeking a Member of Technical Staff 2 to join the Cloud Data Protection (CDP) team's DevEx (Dev-Extension) group in Bengaluru. This is a sustaining engineering role focused on resolving complex, escalated customer issues across data protection, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
You will work as part of a 70+ person team (primarily US and India-based) that maintains Nutanix's industry-leading Net Promoter Score by solving challenging customer problems at the code level. The role combines direct customer engagement with deep technical debugging and product improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include: diagnosing and debugging complex distributed systems issues; providing workarounds and permanent fixes for production problems; developing automation tools for root cause analysis; collaborating with Engineering, Support, Product Management, and QA teams; designing tools to improve product debuggability and serviceability; and working in Linux environments using robust software engineering practices.
You will gain deep exposure to CDP product architecture, distributed systems design, and enterprise-scale infrastructure technologies. The role requires strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, or Golang, with extensive UNIX/Linux knowledge. Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, Xen), file systems, operating systems, hypervisors, networking, and distributed systems management is essential. Familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, and distributed storage is a plus.
This is a hybrid role requiring minimum 3 days per week onsite in Bengaluru to foster collaboration and team alignment. The team is known for solving complex problems efficiently and has been recognized across the company for their impact.
