Poolside is building AI systems to accelerate software development itself, with a mission to reach AGI through intelligence systems for developers. The company is Series B funded, distributed across Europe and North America with monthly in-person collaboration in Paris.
The Interfaces team builds product surfaces for Poolside's Model Factory—an industrial approach to training models. You'll join as a full-stack product engineer owning surfaces end-to-end: from backend services and APIs to the web UI. Your users are the researchers and engineers building Poolside's frontier models.
Your core mission is to turn opaque parts of model training—experiments, trajectories, evaluations, data inspection—into interfaces that are visible, usable, and fast. Much of this work is greenfield; whole areas are untouched or require complete revamps. You'll deeply understand researcher needs, align on use cases, identify bottlenecks, and ship new platforms and features to improve their workflows. You'll also build the internal design system that other teams contribute UI into.
Key responsibilities include owning product surfaces end-to-end across the Model Factory platform, translating complex ML workflows into trusted interfaces, working closely with applied researchers to understand their bottlenecks, building a platform for internal team contributions, iterating rapidly on feedback, and maintaining quality across the stack (performance, reliability, high-utility design).
You should be a strong full-stack product engineer comfortable anywhere in the stack—from data models to polished web UI. You need product sense: intuition for user needs, ability to make independent product decisions, and genuine care for what you build. You're fluent in modern web stacks (TypeScript/React) and backend languages, thrive in ambiguity and greenfield work, and move fast collaboratively with low ego.
Nice-to-haves include understanding how ML models are built (experiments, evals, training workflows) or genuine curiosity to learn, plus experience with data-analysis tooling, agent tooling, or AI products. The company encourages applications even if you don't meet every qualification.
The team is multidisciplinary—research, engineering, business—united by deep care for what they build. Culture emphasizes low ego, kindness, and collaborative intensity balanced with well-being. Work is fully remote with flexible hours, 37 days vacation/holidays, health insurance, 16 weeks parental leave, and frequent team gatherings.
