As a Mechanical & Hardware Design Engineer, you will own the mechanical and electromechanical design of Coram's next-generation security and edge-AI systems. This is a full-lifecycle role spanning industrial design, manufacturing engineering, and field deployment. You'll design products that integrate compute, power, and connectivity into rugged systems deployed in real-world environments, taking concepts from ideation through production and global scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead design, development, and validation of electromechanical assemblies, balancing performance, manufacturability, and cost
- Own the product lifecycle from prototype through EVT/DVT/PVT phases, vendor handoff, and field deployment
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery
- Drive execution across multiple workstreams with urgency and accountability
- Act as a self-starter with a hands-on, scrappy approach to problem-solving in a fast-moving environment
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in electromechanical or hardware product development
- Strong CAD proficiency (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
- Proven DFM/DFA experience and understanding of manufacturing techniques for sheet metal and injection molding
- Working knowledge of thermal, vibration, and environmental design considerations
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work onsite; the team moves faster in the same room
Nice-to-haves include Chinese proficiency and experience with Taiwan/China manufacturing partners, strong prototyping instincts, ability to drive projects from concept to working hardware independently, and curiosity about new fabrication methods and materials.
